Google Presentations is Live

Google’s interpretation of how presentationware should work is now up. I tried it, and there are some good things, and some bad things. Like my hero Mitch Hedberg says: “People either love it or hate it. Or think it’s just okay.”
Take a look at my sample presentation.
The Good:
- It’s easy.
- There are some nice sharing features.
- Very cool collaboration and versioning.
- Like any google web app, you can access it anywhere.
The Bad:
- Dude, where are my transitions?
- Can’t make template changes to just one slide
- Did I ask about transitions already? How about transition timing?
- Can’t insert an image from a URL. You have to browse your system (wait, isn’t this a web app?)
Hey, it’s a start. And I spent about 3 minutes on it, so I could be missing some things.

You can’t make changes to the templates but you can upload your own template files. You can have different background images for your slides. Free google presentation themes at http://www.templateready.com
