DEMOfall 2007 Wrapup: Now the Fun Part Begins

Well, I just flew back to Boston from San Diego, and boy are my arms tired.

Yep. I just said that. Go ahead, shake your head.

Anyway, now that I’m back in Boston and reality is starting to set in, I’m getting excited, and not just about matchmine (of which, or course I am completely fired up). I see “liveblogging” as a kind of drive-by coverage. I basically had a chance to give a very fast interpretation of a six minute presentation from companies I knew nothing about. On top of that, I was judging the ideas solely based on what the presenting company was saying, rather than my own experience with their technology.

In short, DEMO was a lot of fun, but now I get to actually play with new technology. That’s the fun part for me.

So here’s my plan: I am going to check out one or two of the technologies released at DEMOfall 2007 each day, and will write about what I find here. Here are the companies I plan to cover:

1. shoutlet-

2. Pudding Media-

3. myndnet

4. Baagz

5. trovix-

6. matchmine

7. tungle
-

8. vello-

9. yuuguu-

10. dimdim-

11. Aggendize

12. planhq

13. peoplejam-

14. graspr

15. propel pbm-

16. qumranet-

17 Digital Fountain-

18. clipblast!

19. metaradar

20. cocomment-

21. attendi

22. ideablob-

There may be more, but looking through the list, these seem to be the presenters that had a product I’d like to check out.

  1. MyndNet sounds very similar to a boston area startup- ProspectMarkets http://www.prospectmarkets.com, in which they are focused in on using crowdsourcing to generate business leads, instead of trying to be a recruiter/business answers marketplace like Mydnet.

  2. I will be checking daily to see your updates.

  3. Thanks for the mention in here Nathan, interested in your thoughts on PlanHQ when you have a try of it, feel free to send any feedback over if you get into it,

    cheers,
    Tim
    PlanHQ

  4. Thanks guys. I’m very eager to take a closer look at these technologies….DEMO was great, but 6 minutes just isn’t enough to get a feel for new products. Can’t wait for a look under the hood.

  5. Hi Nathan - thanks for continuing the Yuuguu conversation, our goal is to make screen sharing as ubiquitous as IM.
    Best Philip, yuuguu

  6. RickS,

I see you switched up the wording a little bit on this comment instance. I was getting a little tired of reading that same stale spam you posted on thirteen other blogs that mention Myndnet. Keep up the good work buddy!

  7. Thank you for reviewing coComment. We are very happy with the Demogod Award. Now is back to work on new features to keep up with our customers needs.

    Thanks!
    Joaquin

  8. Demo was indeed lot of fun!
Nathan, if you are interested in adding us (Prolify)to the list of companies you are covering , one of the companies which was elected as demogods, let me know and I would love to provide you with additional information.
    Cheers,
    Ido
