The question: How do you respect the media snacker? (Simply stated, a “snacker†is someone who consumes their media in small, digestible portions.)
My answer: By being a media glutton, of course!
A part of my role at CustomScoop involves staying involved in social media, the online PR community in particular, as many of our services may appeal to the PR industry. I devour dozens of PR and marketing blogs each day, and try to boil down the major issues into something rather snack-like.
The result of this gluttony is our daily PR Blog Jots, a sampler of a few posts a day from the PR and marketing blogosphere. I try to choose from a wide variety of blogs and topics, zeroing in on the issues that seem to be either vitally important, thought provoking, or occasionally downright entertaining. Admittedly, I also occasionally cater to what I find most important on a given day, like my frequent drum beating over proper grammar and better writing in PR. Each Friday, we also produce PodJots, a rundown and guide to the PR and marketing podosphere.
For my regular blogs, both here and at the company’s space, I also try to keep my posts concise. Trust me, I could ramble on at great length about just about any topic from transparency in public relations to Britney’s latest crappy weave, but do lengthy blog posts eventually devolve into bloviating? I think so (with some exceptions).
As such, consider your snack served!
I tag Constantin Basturea, because I want him to post. (grin)
