Well, it’s the last day of NaBloPoMo, and I have to admit: writing every day has been tough but well worth it. We’ve seen our traffic nearly double as a result of coming up with something every day, and I’d love to think we’ll be able to come up with posts daily. However, the weekends [...]

Why Can’t I……
Why can’t I go online and search for a product, then see the nearest store that has it in stock, purchase it online, then pick it up?
Why can’t I use my FastLane unit to buy gas? I mean, it’s really nothing more than a trusted gateway to my checking account that is accessible [...]

Today is apparently “Beacon Day†in Wurreyville. I was going to post today (and don’t worry, still will tomorrow) a fun little write up of “Best Holiday Gifts to Buy the Geek in Your Life,†but got sidetracked by a day-long obsession with the Facebook Beacon. It dominated today’s CustomScoop’s PR Blog Jots, and I [...]

With a hat tip to Julia Roy for pointing this out to me, here’s a fun little time-waster for you all. Not that any of you should ever be wasting time, because that would be bad. Ahem.
MagMyPic lets you put your own mug on magazine covers. I’ve helpfully done one for me and one for [...]

Earlier this month I reviewed a new site called I Do Now I Don’t, and the co-founder of the site wanted to call me out on some points I made in the review. Her comment was well-written, clear, and sincere.
After reading her comment, I felt like I may have been too critical and, well, [...]

I was just about to get away from the computer for the night when I saw an ad in gmail that said:
He Never Called You? - whyhaventyoucalled.com - A free service that gets you the answers without the awkwardness
Now despite the "He" part and the fact that google has me all wrong, I HAD [...]

It seems like a new social news site pops up weekly with just a minor twist on the "vote this story up" formula. Just this week, TechCrunch posted a story on Mixx, saying that "Digg Refugees May Be Heading to Mixx." Yesterday there was a story on Center Networks, talking about Propeller’s strong growth.
So [...]

Okay, entrepreneurs. I’m looking for a little advice here.
For the last few years I’ve been intrigued by startups, and the most interesting thing to me is how an idea moves from “what if?” to reality. So here’s my question:
What is the first step?
Say you have an idea that you are really excited about. You’ve worked [...]

There’s a great post on TechCrunch right now by Dan Ackerman Greenberg, co-founder of viral video marketing company The Comotion Group. In it, Dan shows the methods he uses to make their videos “viral.” It includes methods such as:
Pay bloggers to embed the videos
Start forum threads and embed their own videos. From the post:
We start [...]
