It was a tough job, but someone had to do it. Last Saturday I fought my way through the drunken masses to map out the locations for the blogstring.com twitter pub crawl thing. Though not set in stone, here are the times and locations that make the most sense.

1. The Hong Kong

Time: 5:00-7:00 PM

We’ll be starting out at the Hong Kong, home of the scorpion bowl and $2 teriyaki. Though truck bombs are not legal in Massachusetts, the scorpion bowl is a time-honored tradition.

2. Sissy K’s

Time: 7:00-8:00 PM

Directly around the corner from the Hong Kong is Sissy K’s. It’s a tiny place with $1 drafts and free apps. Since we’ll be there early, it shouldn’t bee to packed.

3. The Black Rose

Time: 8:00-9:00 PM

The black rose is an Irish bar with, well, I don’t know. As you can see in the picture, the place gets packed. If the Black Rose isn’t completely overflowing with drunken revelers, it would be worth going there if only to see an Australian doing an Irish jig.

4. Dick’s Last Resort

Time: 9:00-10:00 PM

It’s hack. It’s cliche. It’s a chain. But it’s perfect for a pub crawl. Lots of room and open space inside and "Big Ass Beers" trump the dirty feeling I have for suggesting we go there…..well, that and the fact that Dick’s is midway between the previous bars and the next set.

5. Red Sky

Time: 10:00- 11:00 PM

Sarah lobbied hard for a "fancy", and penciled in Red Sky as a late entry. She said "After Dick’s we may be looking to class it up a bit. So we’ll stop in for a fancy cocktail or two at the only hoity toity bar in Faneiul Hall."

6. The Purple Shamrock

Time: 11:00- Midnight

Yet another Irish bar, the purple shamrock is a must for any Boston pub crawl.

7. The Blackstone Grill and/or The Tap

Time: Midnight to close

The Blackstone Grill is great, but incredibly small. If it’s slow, we’ll go in. If not, we’ll head directly to the Tap, which is custom made for our purposes.
