The Blogstring Fall Pub Crawl Tweetup Spectacular

New Picks March 2008 051UPDATE: In deference to the very worth cause of the Social Media For Social Change event happening on 10/10, we have changed the date of the Blogstring Pub Crawl to 10/25. Hope you can make it!

After the colossal success of Blogstring’s first Pub Crawl Tweetup back in March (as evidenced by the Official Blogstring Pub Crawl Photo pictured here), Nate and I figured we had to go bigger and better for our next event.

Some of the ideas tossed around:

A massive, fully sponsored open-bar booze cruise in Boston Harbor

A “Bar Olympics” with competitors attempting to best each other at classic bar skills including Golden Tee, Karaoke, darts, and other games, complete with prizes.

A Social Media Prom where everyone gets dressed up and we book a hotel ballroom and hire a DJ to spin cheesy 80s music (Ok, actually I just made that last one up, but that would be slightly awesome, so someone with more free time should totally do it)

In the end, we realized that we were shooting too high, and that all we really needed to recreate the magic was to just go back to the beginning. And so, Pubcrawl 2.0.

Visit the Upcoming page to sign up to attend, all are welcome!

It’s October 25, a Saturday, at 6pm. We will have a lot more info in the coming weeks, including a full list of bars (we want to do Faneuil Hall again because it’s an easy place to meet, but will pick different pubs this time), and other pertinent details regarding where to park, where to stay (hopefully the out-of-towners pictured will be able to make it again!) and more.

For those of you who couldn’t make it last time, make sure to join the fun!

  1. Great photo hahaha - made all the better by Abe’s monkey impersonation in the background.

Would love to be there for this but it’s on a rugby weekend for moi. Will live the experience vicariously through Twitter/Flickr/Facebook no doubt.

  2. Well Youngie, what about 10/25? :) Because we’ve had to change the event due to a conflict.

Hope to see you, but if not you will be there in spirit!
