Now here’s something I never thought of. (Isn’t that always with the way with something new?) The lovely Amanda has a new client, 211(me), and kindly asked if I’d check them out . (She put a great pitch together, by the way, by appealing to both Nathan and myself on a personal level and connecting [...]

This morning I installed the Zemanta plugin, which suggests photos, links, articles and tags while you’re composing a blog post. After you write 300 characters, the Zemanta plugin gives contextual suggestions from Flickr, and article suggestions from 300 media sources and the blogs of Zemanta users. Here’s what it looks like: Since this post is [...]

Thanks to my lovely friend Julia Roy, I have discovered a neat little Twitter tool that breaks down your Twit usage into handy little graphs. I really am not sure what purpose this serves, other than to make you go “I send more @s to Paull Young than anyone else by a country mile? And [...]

I don’t know where to start. I really don’t. When diigo’s press release said they were launching over 100 new features, I didn’t see how that could be possible. From the release: This launch includes a completely new UI and code base, and over 100 new features. In addition to substantial improvements in its usability [...]

Okay, so I’m curious. Where do you find the stuff that you love? More importantly, I’d like to know where you go to find the stuff you’re going to love? "Huh?" you ask. Here’s that I mean: When you’re looking for something new, where do you go to find it? If you’re looking for a [...]

After the crushing and horrifying defeat of the great New England Patriots at the hands of the far inferior (at least usually) New York Giants this weekend, one fact emerged: the Boston-New York rivalry is alive and well. Sure, the World Champion Boston Red Sox have vanquished the once great Evil Empire Yankees to claim [...]

There’s a great conversation going on over at my employer’s new publication, Media Bullseye. Chip Griffin has written a post questioning some of the widely-accepted “rules” of social media. Among the rules to refutes, the idea that transparency trumps all, and that the term “audience” no longer applies. I agree with Chip regarding the idea [...]

For those of you who haven’t noticed my nearly constant refrains on Twitter for most of today (and, prepare yourselves, most of the rest of the week), CustomScoop (my employer) has launched a new multi-media magazine, Media Bullseye. Media Bullseye seeks “to provide media, public relations, and marketing professionals with news and commentary about the [...]

With a hat tip to Julia Roy for pointing this out to me, here’s a fun little time-waster for you all. Not that any of you should ever be wasting time, because that would be bad. Ahem. MagMyPic lets you put your own mug on magazine covers. I’ve helpfully done one for me and one [...]

A few days ago, Shel Holtz noted with some concern on his blog that the registrations for the upcoming SNCR Research Symposium and Awards Gala this coming December 5 and 6 in Boston seemed tragically low, and urged his readers to attend such a terrific event. Then I bumped into the illustrious Susan Getgood at [...]
